BOISE, IDAHO - Dealers should know that working the preowned market doesn't mean they need to focus exclusively on buying and selling used units.

No, with the number of bikes changing hands these days in consumer-to-consumer transactions, there's a huge opportunity for retailers in sales of consumables and tools.

This is the advice of Motion Pro's Brandon Baldwin, who pointed out that the DIY market is big and only getting bigger as the burgeoning YouTube generation learns to start working on their own bikes. What better way to capture them as customers than to sell them the parts and tools needed to perform the job.

"It's a good time to be an aftermarket company," Baldwin told a group of WPS reps gathered to get the lowdown on the latest from Motion Pro — and it's an expansive lineup. Here are some tool highlights:

Motion Pro BeadproBeadpro - this tool is aimed at the growing adventure bike market, but works just as well with any tubeless wheel setup. The two-piece tool is designed to break the bead on most street and off-road motorcycle tires. Integrated spoons help with tire removal and installation while a black anodized finish protect the rim. The Beadpro is lightweight and can easily fit in a tool pack.

Motion Pro mini bleederMini Bleeder - This one's a time saver. The tool combines a wrench and bleeder valve that will fit most brake and hydraulic clutch bleeder nipples. An internal check valve allows for fast and easy bleeding. Available in three sizes — 8mm, 10mm and 11mm.

14mm spark plug socket - Designed for use on late model KTM 4-strokes and 2010 Honda CRF250R and 2009 CRF450R. A thin-wall design means this can be used in small plug cavities. Can be driven with a 1/4 in. drive ratchet, 13mm or 14 mm wrench, socket or T-handle. (story continues)
