Yamaha Recalls '08 Rhino

Yamaha Motor Corp. U.S.A., Cypress, Calif., is recalling about 7,800 model year 2008 Rhino 450 and 700 side-by-side vehicles.

Yamaha says the brake caliper on the left front wheel could have been made incorrectly, resulting in brake fluid leaking. This can cause a loss of braking and control of the vehicle, posing a serious safety risk to the driver and passenger. No incidents or injuries have been reported.

Assembled in the United States by Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Corp. of America, Newnan, Ga., the units were sold nationwide from October 2007 through March 2008 for between $8,300 and $12,000.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Rhinos and are asked to contact any authorized Yamaha Rhino dealer to schedule a free repair. Registered owners were sent direct mail notification of this recall.
