CYPRESS, Calif. - Yamaha’s YZ450F and YZ250F motocross motorcycles are all-new for 2014. The YZ450F will retail for $8,490 and be available at the end of June. The YZ250F will retail for $7,490 and be available in October.

Both models will be available in blue or white/red.

The YZ450F uses the previous engine layout with an all-new engine, chassis and KYB SSS suspension. Yamaha also improved mass centralization and gave the bike a new look.

The YZ250F also features an all-new engine, chassis and KYB SSS suspension, with improved mass centralization and looks. Fuel injection is at the heart of a rearward-slanted engine with the same front intake and rear exhaust layout found on the YZ450F. The engine head has a four-valve design.

Yamaha will support both the 2014 YZ450F and YZ250F with a full line of GYTR and Genuine Yamaha Parts and Accessories, including the GYTR Power Tuner.

Yamaha claims to have started the “modern motocross bike movement” by introducing the YZ400F in 1998 and continuing in 2001 with the YZ250F.

“Not content with that, the needle was moved again with the introduction of the revolutionary 2010 YZ450F, with its unique rearward-slanted engine design and ‘swapped’ intake and exhaust layout,” the company said.
