Yamaha's U.S. sales slip in 2007

admin
Yamaha says it retailed 301,000 motorcycles and ATVs in the United States in 2007, down 7.96 percent from 327,000 units sold in 2006.

Motorcycle retail sales fell 6.18 percent, from 178,000 units in 2006 to 167,000 units in 2007, due mainly to decreased sales of off-road models. ATV retail sales fell 10 percent, from 149,000 units to 134,000 units, due mainly to a decrease in big-bore and youth model sales.

On the bright side, sales of side-by-side vehicles (SSVs) continued to increase, up 7.15 percent from 39,000 units in 2006 to 42,000 units in 2007.
