Showroom Design and Layout
Our store was new in 1992, and remodeled extensively in 2003 through 2005. We expanded our service department twice since 1996. We have a tile road running through our store to help move our customers through the displays and lead them through parts and accessories. We are continuously setting up new display areas and props throughout the year. Last year we won a display contest with Honda as the Top Dealer in the area.
We have a full service area with a customer reception area and six work stations, multiple tire machines, a bead blaster and an ultrasonic parts cleaning machine. We have an updated library of service manuals and publications, and a full complement of special tools and shop supplies. Our techs are fully trained and certified.
Training and Employee Motivation Practices
Our service techs have trained at MMI, and we have continued to enhance their training through manufacturer-offered ongoing training programs. Sales training is an ongoing affair with support from industry training programs year-round. We offer mostly personal commissions as well as base wages and benefits. We pass on manufacturer spiffs when available. Our staff is excited to come to work. We answer the phones with "WE SELL FUN," and strive to create fun in the workplace. The positive work environment helps to improve performance and job satisfaction. We have lots of customers who stop in on a regular basis just to say hi or have a cup of joe. The pot is always on. We strive to give the right incentives at the right times to help the process along, and it seems to work.
Commitment to Customer Service
We have a pretty simple philosphy: WE SELL FUN!!! We want all interactions to be win/win. We greet all customers as they come in and make sure they feel welcome in our store at all times. No pressure, just treat them as we would want to be treated. We constantly train by visiting other retailers both in our field and out, and compare what they are doing better and worse than ourselves.
An example of how we achieve it is that we have a huge group of long-term customers who have been shopping with us for a long, long time. Many are on with us on third and fourth generations of their families.
Involvement in the Community
We are involved with industry events and statewide movements such as Ride for Kids, Toys for Tots, WOVA (Washington Off Road Vehicle Alliance), Haunted Halloween MX, and many, many more. The ownership has been involved with Rotary International for more than 50 years. Since the downturn, we have focused our limited resources back into Industry events such as motocross racing, poker runs (both street and dirt) and more.
