On Saturday, April 28, Coleman PowerSports in Woodbridge, Va., held its annual Open House Block Party.
This year, the event featured Suzuki Motorcycles and the Suzuki Zero Percent Financing Program. The event included a bike wash by a local high school, Dyno runs, a bikini contest, moon bounce, free lunch and dinner, music, door prizes, vendor reps, clubs, rider training, and in-store specials. Most importantly, the event featured the Suzuki Zero Percent Financing program and the Suzuki demo truck, which ran demos all day long.
On site, radio station B101.5’s Kristen Nash started the day off with music and live calls from the likes of Suzuki representative Steve Buck and sales manager James Wells to talk about the Suzuki Demos and Suzuki’s Zero Percent Financing Offer. The Suzuki Demo Truck sent the first group out at 10 a.m., and completed over 70 unique individual demos during the day, with each rider receiving a special $250 coupon at the end of their demo ride. This special also promoted the Zero Percent Finance Offer. Toward the afternoon, DJ D-Lux took over from B101.5 with live music and mentions of the Suzuki Zero Percent Financing program.
Free lunch was provided at noon for 350 attendees from Hard Times Café, local clubs set up tents, and Apex Cycle Education set up a booth for reps to discuss rider education. Later in the evening, we brought out the Coleman PowerSports grill and provided a free barbecue. For advertising, Suzuki POP materials were hung/displayed throughout the dealership, Suzuki web-banners were added to the homepage on our website, promotional, and event pages, and flyers were placed around the store announcing the Zero Percent Financing and the open house event six weeks prior.
Leading up to the event, radio advertisements ran on two different stations, email invitations were sent to local area clubs, email blasts were sent to our customers, and the event was posted on our Facebook and Twitter pages. During the event, additional Zero Percent Financing banners decorated the dealership and outdoor bikini contest stage. T-Shirts were made, with the Zero Percent Financing offer, for the contestants to wear at the beginning of the contest. The event proved to be successful with five of six sales of the day being Suzuki models.
