Every December, Fay Myers hosts a special kids event with Santa Claus, free food and activities all day.
At the end of our event every year, Santa draws a child's name and gives away a Honda dirt bike. We had the idea to integrate this giveaway with our mobile customers and online audience. For a few weeks before the event, we teased through our online newsletter, mobile app and social media feeds that a special message would show up on our Facebook and Twitter feeds on a specific day. Customers were encouraged to "Like" Fay Myers on Facebook to receive the special message.
On the day of the message, our followers were given a special URL to a page on our website where they could fill out an extra entry form for our dirt bike giveaway at the Santa event. This was essentially a free promotion since there was no cost and no extra prize or anything required, but gave us a huge boost in our social media presence and definitely pleased a lot of customers. The Santa event itself was a huge success with scavenger hunts, photos with Santa and a bake sale.
