Indian Victory Charlotte started as a 100-percent Indian motorcycle mecca, with just about everything designed around this iconic brand.
Following the acquisition of Indian Motorcycle Company by Polaris in 2011, we added the Victory motorcycle brand to our offering, starting in January 2012. Naturally, this created a few challenges, but the result has been a very inviting, well-lit and dynamic display area for Victory motorcycles, accessories, parts and apparel. To provide equal exposure for the Victory brand, we converted nearly 50 percent of our showroom floor to Victory.
New overhead signage, custom moveable fixtures and apparel displays were created to reflect this exciting American brand. The motorcycles themselves are displayed both on sections of polished black concrete floor and special wood-floored areas. We also added the Victory logo and signage to the exterior of the dealership building.
Overall, the project took about three months to complete, but the results have been impressive. Following our announcement of the new line, showroom traffic increased by about 30 percent, with many visitors interested in seeing what Victory machines had to offer. Our sales of Victory machines have continued on an upward climb as word spreads on the quality, styling, performance and price of these great American-made motorcycles. As a very new Victory dealer, we do not have annual sales numbers for comparison, but we can safely say that it has been quite a successful launch (for us) of this new motorcycle line.
The integration of the displays featuring accessories, parts, and apparel has helped facilitate this fast start to Victory-branded sales. To most customers, it looks like Victory has always been a part of our offering and we think that’s a very good thing.
