The Renegade Community Cookout is designed to help many different groups, organizations and/or people needing assistance.
To date, the RHD Community Cookouts have raised over $62,000, benefiting over 20 different groups. The concept is simple. Renegade provides the space, food for 200 and materials. The groups provide the manpower, need and momentum to make the events successful. Groups are encouraged to make events out of their time. Live bands, cheerleaders, poker runs, live and silent auctions, dunk tanks, etc., all have been used to make the events larger.
Groups have included the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Brothers Keepers Motorcycle Club, The Alexandria Zoo, Hope House Womens Shelter, Combat Veterans, American Veterans, Wounded Warrior Project, The Public Library, High Schools, Elementary Schools and many individuals.
Two years ago, Renegade decided to open its doors. Instead of handing out freebies for raffles or donations, we decided to ask the groups to contribute to their own success. The Community Cookout program has not only helped the amount of contributions go down, but they have increased business by bringing in new customers that might not have come in otherwise. We are extremely proud of what we have accomplished within a short time.
