LEDGEWOOD, NJ – Four suspects were detained related to an attempted burglary Aug. 3 at Ledgewood Powersports Inc.
The multi-line dealership’s general manager told local media she received a call from the store’s alarm company at about 2 a.m., stating that the fence around the dealership had been breached and motion detectors tripped, reported Peggy Wright at the Daily Record. The GM was able to remotely access the store’s surveillance cameras and “clearly saw four men walking around the enclosed rear yard of the business, sitting on motorcycles and touching other recreational vehicles.”
Officers arriving on-scene saw four individuals running from the dealership. They were tracked by a K-9 unit and apprehended, police said. They were charged with attempted burglary, theft, criminal mischief, conspiracy and resisting arrest; two individuals face additional charges of hindering prosecution because they allegedly provided false information to police.
