Fire hazard leads to Polaris Sportsman 570 recall

MEDINA, MN – Polaris Industries on Dec. 29 announced a recall of about 9,900 Sportsman 570 and X2 ATVs due to a potential fire hazard.

Affected are model year 2014 through 2016 Sportsman 570 Touring and X2 ATVs, and 2017 Sportsman 570 6×6 ATVs. Polaris told the Consumer Product Safety Commission that it has received 35 reports of damaged fuel rails and leaks; however, no injuries have been reported.

  • Affected 2014 model numbers are: A154DH57AA and A14DH57AJ
  • Affected 2015 model numbers are A15SDA57AA, A15SDE57AJ, A15SJE57AS, A15SJE57AV and A15SWE57AD
  • Affected 2016 model numbers are A16SDA57A1, A16SDE57A2, A16SJE57AB, A16SWE57A1 and A16SWE57A7
  • The affected 2017 model is A17S6E57A1

Recalled VIN numbers are available at www.polaris.com. The units were sold at Polaris dealers from May 2013 through December 2016.

Consumers have been instructed to stop riding the recalled vehicles and schedule free repairs at dealerships. The CPSC recall number is 17-061. It was announced Dec. 29, 2016.
