Top Dealer Awards: Pioneer Motorsport wins best IDEA for Accessories and Apparel

SUNBURY, OH – Dealernews announces the winners of the category-specific IDEA Awards during the recent Top Dealer competition.

Dealers around the country are recognized for “best ideas” in Apparel and Accessories, Showroom Display, Event, Store Exterior, Parts and Service, Promotion, Sales Approach and Team Incentive. IDEA Awards required separate entry submissions. Dealernews will be announcing the individual winners throughout August.

Starting off: the award for best IDEA for Accessories and Apparel sales.

Pioneer Motorsport wins the IDEA Award for its first Holiday Open House and Fashion Show, held Dec. 2-3, which enticed local customers to become fashion models for the day.

“For this event, we recruited local kids and adults who were willing to strut their stuff on the runway,” the dealership said. (Check with your insurance carrier in case you need to have them sign a waiver to participate.)

Using customers to model the gear makes the show more personable and relatable to potential buyers. Plus, it brings in others who might not be current customers but want to cheer on their friends who are modeling for the event.

“We also brought in a DJ, while having food and refreshments for people to enjoy while they watched the fashion show and got some Christmas shopping done. The event was a huge success, and it opened people’s eyes to the amount of gear we have to suit their riding needs,” the dealership said.

Customers were invited to select a holiday ornament to receive a discount off their total bill. The ornaments provided various levels of discounts.

Pioneer Motorsport’s recently renovated and expanded Apparel department encompasses a 6,750 sq. ft. area within the showroom and has two dedicated staff. It focuses on street riding gear and casual apparel during the spring and summer months, and changes to snowmobile and winter riding gear and accessories during the fall and winter. A separate sales counter and cashier prevents congestion at the main parts counter.
