AMA #1 For AX

Although Cycle City Promotions has operated an Arenacross series since 1995, and it has grown to attract 500-700 racers per event, it has not been a recognized AMA Championship… until now. For the first time, the 12 round 2020 series will be an AMA sanctioned championship. The series will also have national television coverage again for 2020 on Fox Sports 2 (FS2).

“We are thrilled to work with the AMA to help recognize the riders that compete in the Arenacross Series,” said Tod Hammock, the president and founder of Cycle City Promotions. “We had a great year last year with the FS2 TV coverage helping to boost the awareness of the series and we have a lot of momentum going into 2020.”

"Arenacross is an important part of the AMA racing program and to be able to continue to have an AMA Arenacross National Championship will be a benefit to all of our AMA members, both as fans and as competitors. With Tod and his crew coming on board with the AMA, we know the series is in good hands," said AMA Racing Director Kevin Crowther. "We welcome Tod and his series as the new AMA Arenacross National Championship and look forward to a successful 2020 campaign."

The 12 Round 2020 series will kick off on the weekend of January 3-4, 2020 in Loveland, Colorado. There will be a total of seven tour stops and 12 events with the finals taking place on March 7, 2020, in Amarillo, Texas.
