Honda has upped the ante for its 2019 racing contingency program to more than $6 million. Big Red has also increased the number of categories and race series to include their new Talon Sport SxS. This represents an increase of approximately $500,000 over last year, giving Red Riders the opportunity to earn payouts at more than 1,500 races across the country.

A revitalized roadracing contingency effort sees $415,000 for the MotoAmerica Superbike, Supersport and Stock 1000 classes, plus $185,000 for the LiquiMoly Junior Cup class. Contingency in the four classes pays back to 10th place. “It’s good to see Honda involved with a contingency program for the 2019 MotoAmerica season,” said MotoAmerica President Wayne Rainey. “Honda was one of the first companies to step back into the series when we took over and we’re happy to see them continue their support of the series through their newest contingency program.”

Flat track is another big benefactor with the 2019 American Flat Track Singles Contingency Program being bumped up to $79,050. This makes Honda-mounted athletes eligible for 16% more in payouts than in 2018. A $7,500 championship bonus is also being offered.

"Racing has always been fundamental for Honda, so we're happy to announce this expansion of the Red Rider Rewards program for 2019," said Brandon Wilson, Manager of Advertising & Motorcycle Sports at American Honda in a Honda release. "Because of increased opportunities for earning contingency rewards through competition, we're confident that Honda riders will enjoy even more success on tracks across the country this season."
