For the first time in its 35+ year existence, the Motorcycle Industry Council’s Aftermarket Committee hosted the industry leaders and brought in some serious horsepower to collaborate with powersports peers, gain valuable insight on the aftermarket industry and learn from MIC’s strategic data and research partners. Moderated by Dr. Paul Leinberger and featuring data from the likes of David Savlovitz, John Sinski, Andrea Desilets and Ryan Kloppe... along with MIC's director of research Buckner Nesheim and VP of Government Relations Scott Schloegel, it was a full day of industry immersion.

Kudos to the entire industry for coming together to make this happen, especially to Aftermarket Committee Chair Tim Calhoun and MIC Membership Manager Lisa Delaney for going above and beyond the call of duty. Now that the ice has been broken, the real work is about to begin, cautions Calhoun.

“As the MIC Chairman of the aftermarket committee, it was my pleasure to host the first-ever MIC Aftermarket Summit,” he said. “The initial meeting was a reintroduction of all that the MIC offers to its members in the way of reports, data and market intelligence, along with all that it does to protect, promote and preserve the powersports industry. More importantly, it was a step towards the future beginning to pave our own destiny as the motorcycle aftermarket.”

He adds “The incredible team at the MIC has been hard at work the last three years, improving deliverables, simplifying reporting, and making it easier to disseminate and utilize MIC data. I want to thank all attendees as I know we are all working incredibly tough schedules now and to take 1-2 days out to attend is beyond generous.” The attendees concurred with Calhoun.

“A solid day of discussion with the very first Motorcycle Industry Council Aftermarket Summit,” said David Zemla VP of Marketing S&S Cycle. “Thank you MIC for the invite, the insane amount of data and the goodie bag. Looking forward to this level of idea exchange on a regular basis!”

“What a great collection of thought leaders focused on collectively supporting the powersports industry,” said Chera Gibb, VP of Marketing Arrowhead Engineered Products. “Thank you MIC,”

“So great to see you and I know a ton of work goes into this so I just wanted to say THANK YOU – it was a wonderful event and fantastic to see everyone again,” exclaimed Deb Drinan, Director of Business Development, Nelson-Rigg USA. “Look forward to continued growth, a successful AIMExpo and helping out MIC where I can!”

“A special thanks to Paul Langley from Parts Unlimited, Chera Gibbs from Arrowhead Engineering /Western Power Sports (WPS), and Marc McAllister from Tucker Powersports — having these leaders from the industry's big three distributors all at the same table discussing our industry’s future was a huge step forward," Calhoun concluded. "We also had a lot of diversity, with upstarts like SUPER73 and KickstandsUp lending a fresh voice and fresh thinking to the sessions. In conjunction with the veteran counsel from K&N Engineering, YOSHIMURA RACING, Dunlop Motorcycle Tires, S&S Cycle, Inc., Nelson-Rigg, Sena Technologies, Vroom Network, Dealernews and Jonnum Media all added their voices and thoughts.”
