Being held in conjunction with Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, Off-Road Safety Week begins on Saturday, May 14 and runs until May 22. The goal is to increase public awareness of responsible OHV use during the spring and summer riding seasons.

Nationwide, the MIC Communications Department is pursuing media coverage to highlight safety training and work with influencers to share messages about responsible riding and driving. Last week, the MIC Communications Department arranged and facilitated live morning TV news coverage on Telemundo in Los Angeles, one of the biggest Spanish-language broadcasters in the country. The TV segments – staged at the Honda Rider Education Center in Colton, California – included information on rider and driver training, proper gear, and responsible use out on the trails.

The Motorcycle Safety Foundation, Specialty Vehicle Institute of America and the Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Association (ROHVA) are offering free training sessions in California at that time. The California Outdoor Recreation Foundation is also partnering with California State Parks to promote free training. See more details on the California program here:

Additional awareness programs are being rolled out in ATV/UTV riding areas around the country. See more at ROHVA:
