Who knew that back in 2018 the concept of having the biggest names in bike building turning their talents to the smallest bikes on the market would click? The 8th annual Flying Piston Benefit Breakfast is back and bigger than ever!  Set to kick off the Sturgis Rally at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip CrossRoads, the combination of fun, friends and fundraising for new rider initiatives is a highlight of the rally for many. The Builder Breakfast will be held Sunday, August 7th, combining custom builders and industry influencers to support veterans and aid rider training through the Motorcycle Missions and AllKidsBike initiatives.

Now there is actually a waiting list to participate. Making the cut for the 2022 Class are Zach Ness, Cabana Dan Rognsvoog, Rodney Smith, Arlin Fatland, SPacEY and Greg “Edge” Scheuer. Stock Strider Bikes were sent to the Builders by Strider Sports International, a manufacturer of balance bikes that inspire kids to ride. The resulting customs will be unveiled at the Flying Piston Breakfast and displayed at the Biker Belles Celebration and Sturgis Motorcycle Museum Hall of Fame induction during Rally week.

In addition to an exclusive first look at the Strider Customs, attendees will meet the 2022 Featured Builder Billy Lane of Choppers, Inc. and 2022 Featured Artist Darren McKeag of McKeag Art. Both will be present to talk with fans and friends along with the Chip’s owner Rod “Woody” Woodruff, photographer Michael Lichter, and the builders from the prestigious Motorcycles As Art exhibition. The Flying Piston Auction this year includes a collection of one-off original skate deck art, plus hand-painted flasks and stainless Big Frig mugs.
