The extra driveshafts inside the frame and to the front wheel only add 1.7 pounds to the Hardtail and 2.3 pounds to the FAT-tired AWD bicycles.
A handlebar mounted switch controls the AWD “shift on the fly” clutch which when engaged interlocks with the rear hub transferring power to the forward spiral gear set.
