Coinciding with International Female Ride Day this weekend, the women at the Buffalo Chip have announced a long list of leading ladies who are shaping the motorcycle industry and will be riding around Sturgis to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of Biker Belles Women’s Day. Some of the Biker Belles’ original founders–Laura Klock, Cris Sommer Simmons and Lori DeSilva (representing Gloria Struck), as well as Ride Captain Athena “Chickie” Ransom and Biker Belles Ambassador Diva Amy Skaling as they lead the Morning Ride from the Lodge at Deadwood through the beautiful Black Hills on August 8.

“It's been a wonderful 15 years of honoring our past and empowering our future,” says Bike Belles Director Toni Woodruff. “Come experience the freedom of the open road and gather with women mentors and friends old and new.” The day of festivities supports organizations benefiting women’s causes.

“Over the past 14 years Biker Belles has become known organically as the Home for Women at Sturgis, and it will keep that distinction this year,” she adds. “Biker Belles represents many positive elements of the motorcycle community – encouragement, empowerment, mentorship and charity. When we created the event in 2009, we’d hoped it would change people’s lives for the better, and it’s amazing to see over a decade later how much it truly has.”
