Fred Bosshardt, President of Down Home Harley-Davidson, has sold the Burlington, North Carolina, store to new Dealer Principal Phil Mitchell and GM/Partner Dan Roland. A perennial Platinum Bar & Shield Circle of Distinction Award winner, Bosshardt also owns Caliente Harley-Davidson of San Antonio, Texas.
“When I made the decision to sell, I called George Chaconas of Performance Brokerage Services, and met with him at my dealership in San Antonio,” relates Bosshardt. “After a long process, he and his partner Courtney Bernhard successfully identified the perfect buyers; Dan Roland understood the business coming from the Harley-Davidson world, along with his partner, Phil Mitchell, a car dealer from Washington. They were the perfect fit for my existing management, employees and culture that I built over the years.” A lifelong Harley guy, Bosshardt bought the dealership back in 2012.
Mitchell operates three automotive dealerships in the state of Washington, but Down Home Harley-Davidson is his first motorcycle dealership. Partner/GM Dan Roland previously served as General Manager at Pacific Junction Harley-Davidson, followed by Loess Hills Harley-Davidson, both located in Iowa.
