Repeat cover dealer, multi-time Top 100 winner, NPDA founding board member and force of nature, Gail Worth shocked the Kansas City area by announcing she was retiring and closing the dealership as of June 29… Sort of!
“I’m retiring Kansas City! For 25 years, Gail's Harley-Davidson has been the place to go for all your Harley needs. We've built a community of riders and friends that will never be forgotten. But now, it's time for the next chapter.,” is what she posted on social media for her customers. “As many of you know, I've always followed my heart and known when it's time to move on to new adventures. With my 60th birthday coming up, my man Gale looking at retirement himself, along with the loss of Slacker, my dear friend and partner, I feel now is the time for that next chapter…
“While it's heartbreaking to say goodbye to Gail's, I'm at peace knowing we leave a legacy. Gail’s Harley-Davidson has a soul that welcomed everyone who walked through our doors. Our final day will be June 29 or whenever we run out of inventory, whichever comes first.
"Kansas City — thank you for your support and friendship throughout the years. The memories we've made will live on. Gail's may be closing but its spirit will always be with us. Always remember, Gail’s Harley-Davidson is where every day was an excuse to have fun!”
To her fellow NPDA Board members Gail confessed she isn’t going away completely… more like semi-retirement. “I’m not going far — I'll stay active supporting our great city... and my other dealership Shawnee cycle remains open and vibrant. I've poured my heart and soul into the Harley business for over 40 years, but as I approach my 60th birthday, I'm ready to spend more time relaxing and enjoying the lifestyle I’ve been selling for all these years.”
Shawnee Cycles & Powersports will remain open under the excellent leadership of General Manager, Donnie Rooks. “With such a strong team in place there, I only need to check in a couple times a month now. This change allows me to reduce my workload without fully stepping away from the industry I love…

As most of you know, I’ve not missed a day of work in 40 years, unless I’m traveling for work, and I’m tired. It’s time for me to live the lifestyle I’ve been selling all these years.”
