It is almost time for dealers to throw their hat into the ring! The original dealership recognition program is set to return at AIMExpo. In addition to kicking off the Dealernews Top 100, we will be saluting the first 25 Grand Prize winners at a reception on Thursday evening, courtesy of our friends at AIMExpo, McGraw Powersports and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation.
Originally the act of throwing your hat in the ring came from boxing when a contender wished to take up the challenge, however it was popularized by Captain Eddie Rickenbacker and the legendary "Hat In The Ring" Squadron. The 94th Aero Squadron went to France in WWI where its high-flying aerial achievements ensured its place in history... and returning ace Rickenbacker went onto ride motorcycles and have a vintage collection hanging from the rafters of a San Francisco bar/museum named in his honor... but that is a #flashback for another time.
