American Honda and ride-planning/tracking/sharing app Rever have challenged riders of all motorcycle brands to collectively track 250,000 miles with the app prior to October 20, 2019. If participants reach that goal, Honda will donate $10,000 to the Los Angeles Ride for Kids/Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation charity event, taking place October 20 at American Honda’s headquarters in Torrance, California.

Current Rever users can go directly to the Honda L.A. Ride for Kids Challenge, click "Join" and start tracking every ride. Individuals not currently signed up for Rever can do so for free, join the challenge and start tracking and saving rides. People can also benefit the cause by attending and taking part in the L.A. Ride for Kids in person. Riders, kids and families will gather to check out some cool motorcycles, have a fun motorcycle ride, enjoy lunch and enter to win raffle prizes.

"Ride for Kids is all about channeling what we love to do (riding motorcycles) into a good cause," said Chuck Boderman, Vice President of American Honda’s Powersports Division. "Rever’s app-based challenge will help increase awareness of the ride and get riders out on two wheels. This challenge will also help riders discover the joy of supporting kids in need through our daily riding adventures."

"We are so excited about this new partnership with Honda and Rever, which will not only get more people out on their motorcycles, but also raise awareness and funds for kids with brain cancer," said Kelly Dooley, Director of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation’s Ride for Kids program. "Thank you to everyone who participates—every mile counts in our pursuit of a cure!"

"We can’t think of a better reason to track a ride in Rever than helping kids with cancer," said Justin Bradshaw, Rever cofounder and President. "Honda and RFK have done an incredible job over the years, and we are honored to be joining them to help spread the word of such a great cause."

Challenge Details

The Honda L.A. Ride for Kids Challenge is based on miles tracked in the Rever app between 12 a.m. MST September 20 and 11:59 p.m. MST October 20, 2019. Rides imported from another source or rides that have been planned but not recorded, do not count. This challenge is free to join for any member of Rever, with no purchase necessary. Riders may join the challenge at any point between the start and end dates, but only rides after joining the challenge will be counted. Rides marked private will not count.
