Sharon Chasles 1965 Harley-Davidson FLH Panhead will be one of the vintage bikes riding in the Chix On 66 Ride. Sharon is from Maryland.

Karan Andrea from New York will be riding the Chix On 66 Ride on her 1974 Harley-Davidson Shovelhead.

Chix On 66 is a cross-country ride comprising 40 women that will follow Route 66 from Chicago, Illinois, to Santa Monica, California. Starting on June 10, the trip is expected to run through June 25, barring any unforeseen adventures… oh, one more thing, all of the motorcycles are classics, some dating back to the1930s! To that end shops along the route will be providing services and Tucker Powersports will be supply “fluid” support, include regular oil changes for the entirety of the ride.

“To the uninitiated, fluid changes, replacing spark plugs, checking cables, brake pads, tire pressure, etc. seems as complicated as rebuilding a motor,” notes AMCA Riveter Chapter President Karan Andrea. “The Riveter Chapter of the AMCA proudly announces that Create Milwaukee Moto Collective, CCMS motorcycle repair shop, and Harley-Davidson University will be supporting the Chix On 66 riders by offering garage space, tools and instruction for motorcycle oil changes along the route.

“Having these two shops, Create Milwaukee Moto Collective in Milwaukee, along with a rep from Harley-Davidson University, and CCMS motorcycle repair shop in Tucumcari, New Mexico, on hand to assist or teach our riders how to change their own oil is the first step for these women to really own their bikes in a way they never have,” adds Andrea. “The more I learn and the more I do on my bikes, the less intimidating the jobs seem, and when I ride, I know my bike better than before. It will be exciting to see that self-discovery happen for some of our riders, and I am grateful for the assist in making that happen.”

Create MKE founder Kyle Kompas has opened his shop to host Chix On 66 riders who want to change their oil before setting forth on Route 66. Kyle is making available several lifts, tools, and other goods that may be needed while riders are in Milwaukee on June 10, 2022. Additionally, Harley-Davidson University, based in Milwaukee, will provide a representative to work with Kyle at Create MKE where they will assist riders with their oil changes, offering consulting and instruction where needed.

Once Chix on 66 riders arrive in Tucumcari, New Mexico, on June 18, CCMS motorcycle repair shop will open their doors to the women who hadn’t changed their motor oil in Milwaukee. CCMS, owned and operated by Clay Thorne, services and repairs all motorcycle brands, and Clay will also be available for assistance and instruction.

As the official Oil Change sponsor, Tucker will provide, through its Twin Power and BikeMaster brands, a supply of individually chosen motor oil and oil filters for Chix On 66 participants so that they can have free oil changes along the route. TwinPower and BikeMaster will also supply other fluids and supplies that may be needed for minor on-the-road repairs.

"We're working with Chix On 66's selected dealerships to support oil changes before departure and along the route" said James Simonelli, TwinPower Brand Manager. "We've already shipped cases of oil, filters, gaskets and maintenance items so they are ready when the riders arrive."

Tucker is also working with Create Milwaukee Moto Collective, and CCMS in Tucumcari, New Mexico, to help service the rider’s motorcycles for the event. "This is one of many ways that Tucker supports motorcyclists," said Andrea Weeke, Tucker's Senior Director of Marketing. "Chix On 66 celebrates freedom and the open road for all women riders. We're so happy to support these hardy souls."
