To celebrate its 80th anniversary, Spanish motorcycle brand Rieju returned to their original green livery for its “Legend 1942” motorcycle models. Highlighting the EICMA display was the world premiere of Rieju’s Aventura 500. The flagship of its Legend 1942 range, the 500cc twin is the largest displacement motorcycle ever manufactured in the factory located in Figueres, Spain.

Other adventure-inspired innovations for the Aventura include a rally style double fuel tank (distributing the weight of the fuel fore and aft) and 21-inch front/18-inch rear spoked wheels. The Aventura is intended to take you as far as your imagination can go, but the brand is branching out literally as well as figuratively.

Joining its ADV twin on stage was Rieju’s little Aventura 125 single, as well as its expanded range of 125cc 4-stroke MR enduro bikes. And in the traditional green, the Century street scrambler made its debut in Italy. Central Powersports Distributing, the U.S. importer, is still on the fence about bringing in the little bikes but could be swayed by dealer demand. “Celebrating 80 years, Rieju is Spain’s oldest active motorcycle manufacturer, recently acquiring the former GasGas Enduro platform, Rieju has already set about improving and growing an already incredible Enduro range,” notes CPD boss man Mark Berg.

“We might not know the brand in the U.S. yet, but Rieju is a serious company in Europe,” explains Berg. “They manufacture more than 12,000 motorcycles a year and are exported to more than 40 countries around the world.”
